Hello,

I'll be buying a TD5 and want to know if they have OBD onboard diagnostics. Say from 2001 onwards

If so I'll take my diagnostic tool to test drives.

Once upon a time I looked at a Discovery 2 and took my diag tool along - hey presto no major faults! Just the one comms fault 😂 I guess a pair of scissors beat me to it. I didn't buy it. Is this a thing with TD5s ? ie "Just cut cable at the back the OBD connector, that'll clear the faults"

Also interested so I can read the ECU engine number.

Thank TIA
James

yep they do, if you have a good one it will read most things. I use a deplhi.........

Well, kind of. They look as if they should be but they're not fully OBD compliant as they were being made just as it was coming in and getting standardised. If you're going to go in for TD5s in a big way it's worth getting a device that'll read and diagnose them fully, such as the Nanocom or the Britpart Lynx system.
