OK, for the less intelligent, IE...you lot
I'm going to do this in numbered sections.

and you will need some red and white warning barriers and some rope

1. Clear a substantial area around your landrover and mark it with barriers so no one enters the work area, for health and safety guidelines this area needs to be about 50 yards
2. stand in front of your landrover, S1/S2/S2a/S3, whichever one you have
3. locate the catch to release the bonnet, Might take you a while but its near the top of the grill.
4. Attach rope to bonnet locking mechanism and attach the other end to the nearest solid object.
5. enter your landrover and put the key into the ignition.
6. start your landrover.
7. put your landrover into reverse.
8. now reverse.
9. your bonnet should be pulled slowly off your vehicle while controlling the clutch.
10. if you have followed all the guidelines in this review your bonnet should be off your landrover and on the floor waiting for you.

thank you

You forgot to check handbrake or wheels are chocked before standing in front of your car. You never know it may run you over

i think among other things you would have to check the breaking strain of the rope and also that the bonnet catch was securly fastened and not corroded as this would cause the catch to part companyy with teh bonnet and be catapulted , most probably outside of the safety area. this could result in a passing small child copping one in the boat.

you really really do need to be more careful when removing your bonnet

i think 50 yards is a safe enough area to work in without maming someone

and its ****ing rope, not bungee elastic

What happens if you haven't got 50 neighbours....how can you use 50 yards???

is climbing rope not rope?
does it not stretch?
you didn't specify which kind of rope

you failed to state the length of the rope and

and is the safety area enclosed by walls or safety screens?

ffs, climing rop is expensive, just use common towing rope, most people usually have some of that laying around

the safety area has red and white warning barriers, thats all you need

you dumbass Sirus

yeah but say your out mountaineering and you are nearly at the starting point for your climb when suddenly you need to remove your bonnet. would you run back to get some towing rope or would you just use climbing rope?

Does this process work for all landies or is it just series? Can I follow your instructions for my RR or would that just break the rope?:D

you have to use that kinda rope they have at awards ceramonies. you know the stuff that goes around the red carpet to keep the scum away from the posh ****s

Could you not just do away with the rope, and speed things up by using a 110 HD rear spring under the bonnet plunger?

My tow rope is a Kinetic one, what do i do ?
Also my series 2 has different bonnet hinges to that of a series 3 etc will that effect the procedure?

just looked under my passenger seat and ime ****ed if i can see a tow rope...is this classed as a factory extra option ? ..had it been reviewed ?

wafty

no they all had them fitted. it should have a 15ft length of rope in there.
it may be that somone has bin around and swipped them all. so if anyone know of anyone trying to sell lots of 15ft lengths of rope please name them on here!
