2400 to change the airbags!!
I think you've mis-read the price quoted, which was between two- and four-hundred pounds (£2-400) viz 1 to 2 hours each corner at £50 an hour.

Thanks to all the advice so far. I certainly won't be spending £5500 on a service, irrespective of whether JLR dealer quote is justified; Cats are already done; I have all the filters and new air springs (Island4x4 very reasonable). I just have to sort out whether I wish to spend a day outside (no garage) changing springs, or bite the bullet and pay an independent 4x4 specialist to do them. What galls is spending up to half the value of the P38 on this...with no return except peace of mind and convenience.

The air bags really are a simple job iv got to do the ones on the wife's d2 this week as one blew out I suspect they are original so 17 years old?? New bags from island 49 quid each and there dunlop as well think the whole job both bags will take an hour.
