Yo guys my brake pads are shot no pads just metal against metal disc!! squealing like mad when I brake and I can see the disc is scored too so I have bought 4 new discs and pads. but unsure am I correct to assume that what Buster on his repair pic jobs for cv joint is same way that I need to do to remove and replace the discs on my disco 200 tdi??

yeah thanks I have done them on astra and escorts old my prev cars etc it was simple and I did the cv joint on the escort but wasn't sure about the discos etc cheers will have a go and let u know tomorrow nite when I have complete it!!!!

sean thanks for the link yep perfectly clear and nice easy -) what size is the is the hub socket ?? so I can buy one from halfords.

yep that is the one will pop to rollings or motormania etc for that. 52mm massive!!! hehe my sockets goes up to 21mm and got one for the wheel nuts 28mm I think if I remmeber ah well worth it!! my mot 2 weeks ago it breezed thro easily never failed etc but thois time it has advisory note saying offside hub has a slight play so it is good time for me to tighten that up!! thanks mate.

Did mine recently and looked at the cheaper option of a box spanner. Only problem with that is torqueing the thing thing back up properly. In the end I got one of these.... Sealey Sx010 Impact Socket 52Mm 1/2”Sq Drive on eBay, also, Hand Tools, Garage Equipment Tools, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 10-Jun-09 14:06:15 BST)

A good investment.

Sorted the torquing problem
short 1/2 inch extension with hole for side bar from a car boot sale
bit of rod fastened through the box spanner and extension bar
Nm - ft/lbs no problem

No icon for blowing me own trumpet
