I have a 2006 Discovery 3, which I have appreciated for 3 years. It is an automatic.
It now has a gear box issue with a fault between 3rd and 4th gear, and throws the system into a fault mode.
I have tried everything to fix it…replacing the transmission…gearbox and transfer case…etc but to no avail. This was done by a mechanic.
I think I have come to the end of my patience with it….So…the question is
1. what is the best way to sell it…which websites?
2. It still has a valid MOT…in-fact it just got it…so sell it or break it?

Thank you for your time in advance…I am open to sensible offers…

What's "etc" ??? ... it implies reading the fault code with dedicated scanner too? ...if not sell it to that mechanic who replaced the gearbox and transfer box without properly diagnose it cos it can be an electrical issue which is revealed only by the fault code

OK I know about these faults you can't just change the gearbox on a D3 and expect it to work.
For starters it will need codeing to the car which requires dealer software or the gap tool fully unlocked at its most expensive level.

The replacment gearbox just won't work on another car until this has been done.

If the op comes back I will give him more info and a link
