hi everyone, i'm new on here :)
i have just bought a 2001 discovery td5, its had the rear airbags removed and springs fitted.
what i need to know is there a way of disconnecting the ace unit so the light does'nt show on the dash?

The light is a warning light.

If you've just bought the Disco, take it back and have the ACE sorted.

ace isnt air bags different system ace ,active cornering uses 2x hydraulic ram to pull pushon anti roll bars to keep vehicle stable (upright),there a different light for air suspension which can be turned off by someone with test kit to tell ecu vehicle is coil not air

(

which is the showing a picture of the rear end and arrows either side.
sometimes it is orange and some times its red.

That is the ACE Warning light.

Two solutions (mayby more)

1. Change the ACE type Anti roll Bars for normal ones and have the system disabled via Testbook

2. Search and find the prob with your System installed. You also need a Testbook for that!

Other Possibilities are: selling the Car, burning it, remove the lightbulb, living with the light (until next MOT)....................................

ok thanks for the reply's.
so is it ok to run the ace unit set up with springs? or should this be removed and fit a arb now there's springs fitted?

i've noticed a pipe leaking from a rubber hose above the rear diff that looks like they go to the rear shockers. is this the apart of the ace system?
whould this cause the light to come on if there's a leak?
is there any common faults with the ace system and how much would it be to fix?

ACE is kind of expensive, (here in Europe Mainland) The cheapest way is to convert it to normal Anti roll bars.

But I don`t remember the pipes running near te rear Diff and the ACE Pipes are not made of rubber.
More likely that`s a fuel line, better ge that sorted quickly!

Ace pipes run above rear diff and have a rubber flexi section to accommodate the ability of the suspension to go up and down. This will be why your lights are on . Stick on new pipes and get system bled. In my opinion discos are far far better with ace fitted. Do you have seven seats? If so you may not have insurance if air sus removed, Land rover never made a 7 seater with coils and many insurance companys will not accept the downgrading of the suspension system.
