Has anyone scrapped a Disco recently if so how much did you get for it?

Looking at one for parts (Seats and the likes) Got a v8 in.

Its working so may keep for spares but wondering if room gets tight what it will fetch scrap! More of an idea than anything.

I am sure it will make more as parts if I were to strip it but thinking if I need shut within a days notice!

Ring your local scrapper and ask em what they're paying. A complete disco weighs about 2 tons. Damn silly thing to do mind there's so many bits that are useable even on a right old rust bucket. Best thing is take everything you can off it then weigh in the shell.

Picked it up and drove it home (The MOT Station was shut by the time I got back!) and it drove ok. Now in the catch 22 of keep, sell, brake or scrap! lol

Think I am going to take it for the MOT in the morning and go from there.

It is a 1995 V8 If anyone needs any parts? Not too sure how much they make when split but I am having the LPG kit and Rear Seats straight away.

If anyone is after lots of spares or wants it as a van let me know as I have the rear van floor and dog guard should anyone want one fitting.

The engine was meant to have been rebuilt 40k ago which could be true, it is smooth. Car done something like 210k. Been lifted. Its Auto and the diff lock works fine (may nick some parts if it will fix mine!).

Lol not too sure as I didn't look. By full lift I guess you mean shocks and springs. I think it will have been as it drove like mine, rather than the others without which I have driven that are sloppy and wallow.

it looks yellow so it could be a ****part lift kit !!! looks to good to scrap

Hello daddy what size is the engine, i am looking for a air flow meter off a 3.9 . Just paid a 4x4 breaker 70 pounds including delivery for one ,they sent the wrong one. Now turns out they dont have the right one ,if you breaking it would it be possible to send me a photo of the afm especialy the electric connection plug to see if its the same one regards saw.

Hi there - I'm a Disco newbie - are the roof rails an easy transfer from one Disco to another? I'm looking at a 93 300TDI and may be interested if the transplant was possible...

It failed its MOT today shock horror! lol Guy says a few hundred quid should see it right. Not sure wether to take the LPG kit and run, fix it up and sell/off road it, or split it for parts. Going to take the failure sheet to the friendly mechanic and see what he says.

The main of it was lights (easy fix)
Brake pipes (easy fix)
King pin (God knows need to research!)
And as usual welding! 2 small sill patches. (I aint any good at welding!)

Kingpin?

Guessing that the KingPin is the swivel joint! Or at least thats what the other threads surgest. Also one person says hudds lr centre do them for £150 so not too bad.

I may have a look at the parts prices and make my mind up!

Anyone here after a V8 Auto Disco (Retro 5dr not 3dr) Commercial whole? (Without the LPG kit or rear seats!)

If so PM me your offers!!!

Nice thought, but your too far away for me.
I'd probably take an interest in the window regulators for the P/S/F and both rear doors.

Land Rover Discovery V8 1995 Red Spares or Repairs on eBay (end time 05-Feb-10 16:02:58 GMT)

Just listed it Ebay! I have offers of £400 on the table at the moment. But like it says in the ad looking for £550.

If anyone needs enough parts to make £550 reasonable then I am happy for you to come and use our unit whilst you take what you want and leave what you don't. (You would have to use your own tools and cutting gear)

Just an idea that I had as I know what it is like when you need lots of parts but have no space to do anything!

Just wondering, do you understand how eBay works? It seems that there are soooo many folk who don't - and I reckon you're on of 'em.

I am sure that you can probably enliten me..... But I would sat yes with confidence.:)

Put you unwanted things on there and....

The dumb people wait and bid.
The clever people get in touch and offer to come and view and take away paying with cash.
The really dumb think I would love one of them and bid, then once winning either dont contact you or say they are coming then let you prat about and then when they dont turn up you re list it and start again.

I have listed loads of things on there and ended most of them early as someone has stood on my drive with cash in his pocket saying I will have it for x cash, I have even done it via ebay with buy it nows to protect the person but its by far the best way to play the game.

So if your comment was about not been fair to others, life aint fair and I aint about to be messed about by people offering me 30k and there virgin daughter when a genuine person may have cash but want me to drop £100!

Either way I have bought some of my best buys like that and also sold a lot of stuff like that so that is how it works!
