Thanks for the offers, had no Internet for the last few days. Think I've decided to get a recon unit.

different input shaft kind sir, and there's an unconfirmed possibility the ratios are different.

p.s. i had my lt77 reconditioned at cost 300 when it went pop a while back.
this is because i wanted to keep the old fashioned box. i wish i never had, r380 is the way forward...

I have an lt77 i removed from my 200tdi disco. Good nick but in worcestershire. I am away til sat but could courier monday morning i guess.
Derek Allfrey in Sussex has 3 200 tdi Disco breakers all with superb mechanics but died due to to tin worm.
He will be able to help you - his number is 07793 238964 - he sorted another guy out on here with a gearbox and transfer box and he chap was very happy.
He only speaks Land Rover though!
