Hi I'm new to the landrover world I've just got 300 TDI on N reg but there seems to be a problem with the headlights when I turn the switch to the first notch the side lights come on and very dim dipped light when I turn it to the second notch the main beam comes on the passenger side but drivers side stays very dim like it's not getting enough power.
I've tried pulling the plug out of the dip dim near the washer bottle under the bonnet but that just maid the very dim dipped light on drivers side go out completely.

Any ideas or solutions would be great fully appreciated

Thanks looks like someone has already put spade connectors on but I will change them I've tried disconnecting the relay to for the dim dip but same again the drivers very weak dipped beam went off

Its either bad connection on supply or bad earth, had same problem on mine it was a badly corroded wire near the connector:)

Check all the crimps, corrosion can creep up the wire and cause failure ...

I think there are connectors on the bulkhead for the lighting circuits too, there certainly are on a 200 Discovery and these caused me problems on mine. Check those as well and have a good look around to make sure your earth straps are sound.

hi scoobycowen ive just had the same problem as you. hopefully youve got the problem sorted now but if not the earth wire for the o/s (drivers side) front light is on the o/s wing just at the back of the alarm and fuse box above the wiring loom heading into the bulk head.

take the nut and wires off and clean them with some fine sand paper and tigthen them up properly and then give it a little coating for protection.

if you need more help give us a shout.

Thanks mate for the info mine was the light/indicator stalk but I'm going to have a look at that earth and give it a clean up.
