First time here so hello to you all, I have a discovery 300TDI 96 had it for a couple of weeks and getting some cutting out on the engine.
Seems to happen when I run the car and gets up to temperature, when I turn it off and wait a few minuets and restart it, It cuts out it can be as I’m pulling off or at low revs in second any help would be most helpful.

regards Marc

Could be a multitude of things, there are several posts with similar problems worth checking out.

Pull out a spark plug to see if your getting a decent spark, you may also want to pull out an injector and turn engine over to see if fuel getting out.

These engines are a lot more complicated than the A-series engines im used to working on!!

You may also find some interesting information on the Land Rover Website - there was a recall on some Disco models (New Zealand anyway) displaying similar problems you describe.

Lezel69, I have looked and looked and still cant find a spark plug on my TDI (cos its deisel)

Hi Wolfie,
The same thing kept happening to me, the alarm module that is at the back of the dash may have something to do with your problem. the way around this is to try hot wiring the selonoid to the injection pump to the battery to see if it is that with a switch so you can isolate it when you stop, if it does not cut out then the problem is in the alarm modula at the back of the dash, it is a dear item to replace.

Best Cheers
Dobbo

Is it an auto? and does it do it selecting 1 then 2 rather than just D if it is Auto?
