:) has any one any ideas on the common faults on the discovery rear passenger electric windows?

mine seem to work as and when they feel like it......

been looking in different places and there seems to be varing opinions.

does a 1994 m reg 300 tdi have the ecu under the glove box?

can this be problem?
can it be re soldiered?

has any one had this fault and corrected it?

help and advise please :D

I had the same problem, it was a faulty rocker switch, take the cover off and try a swop with a switch that you know works every time and if it works problem solved. I found that one had fallen into my pocket at a breakers yard !

You may find this site useful, it shows you exactly where and what to repair on faulty and tempremental rear windows.

It was exactly correct and it sorted my windows out. (Great pictures and explanation)

Excuse it being in LH drive model, but the part is found behind the glovebox in our models.

thanks for that site, spot on with instructions, except due to my lack of movement took about 1hr trying to get in to it.

got it out on fisrt examination looked fine!

took really close look trying to find the slightest crack/fault.....

eventually found 3 points where the soldier was slightly, and i mean very slightly cracked.

got my soldiering iron out, resoldiered and put back together.........

hey presto !!!!!

i now have fully working front and REAR windows !!!!!!

this is a first in having owned the discovery nearly 6 months...

thanks again and any one out there with the same problem i suggest you get yous out and do the same.....

its a silly fault but makes a world of difference.

yu will find that when soldiers start cracking up - it could be battle fatigue - a long dose of R&R usually helps;).
