Disco 3 2008 SE Deisel. Went in for MOT and they said dipped beam was too low so they adjusted it higher. Now miles too high! I suspect suspension was down a bit at the front when they did it - after service.
In manual it seemed straight forward to readjust, I've done it before with other cars against the garage wall, but my headlights don't appear to have the 2 Philips adjusters shown in the manual? Then I see discussions quoting "NAS" Cars and zennon headlights and I didn't know what either were and so became confused - such that I don't know where I am, Could one of you chaps help me out please? Thanks Rob

Yes you can manually adjust them did mine years ago, cant for the life of me remember how though! and wife has solen my car.

Halogens or bixenons?

Not sure whether they are Halogens or bixenons, I guess Halogens because I presume they were the originals and I don't think they have been changed. Afraid I can't tell because I'm not sure what to look for. The main thing is, there are no sign of Phillips screws that they say to use to adjust.

Easy to tell, when you switch the lights on do they instantly appear bright? (halogen) or do they take a second or two to get bright (xenons)
Then theres the turning xenons which as the name suggests turn as you corner.
Some headlamps have cornering lamps and at low speed they light up, this is an extra bulb tucked down low in the headlamps.
halogen will also have a kick up to the left in the beam pattern wheras the xenons appear as a flat line

HSE pretty much had it all, but an SE optioned up could have them as well

When wife gets home i will see if I can see what I adjusted.

Thanks, I'm 90% sure they are Halogens, certainly not turning xennons. Thanks for Onedrive manual, looked all through but afraid nothing helpful. I just can't see the so called adjustment screws and can't see any blanking plugs. I'm at a loss at the moment.

Just had a search through my pics, I added some vents to my headlights as there was condensation

if u look at the pics, top of the headlights, look like 8 or 10mm nuts , top left and top right, marked V1 and V2

mine are halogen

hopefully this will help

Ps, as a side note reason the suspension raises at the front first is part of the anti glare system

Thanks for picture. I definitely saw at least one of the the V1 V2 bolt heads. It didn't appear to turn but I'll have another look tomorrow. Thanks again, oh and Happy new year!

Sorry delayed coming back, I have been away and unable to get to the car until today. V1/V2 bolts don't appear to do anything. Engine warning light has now appeared (great!) which I think usually signifies EGR valve sticking. Taking to be plugged in tomorrow and will get them to show me how to adjust lights (Not dealer of course). so will hopefully be able to answer question on lights adjustment tomorrow.

hi

cheers for the update , oh well that’s out then, lol

have u tried removing the back covers and seeing if there’s any adjustment inside , would of course be daft if there is but suppose worth a look

see if there’s any levers inside , if so

The outer ratchet is for horizontal adjustment
The inner ratchet is for vertical adjustment.

As a side note , if u do blank ur EGRs instead of replacing as urs is after 2007 ur need a software patch
