Hi All,

I've just got myself a 53 Discovery Metropolis only to find the sat nav doesn't work  (its the colour screen above centre console) , keeps telling me there is no disc inserted, when I checked in the box bit under drivers seat there is a disc but it keeps sending it back out. Has anyone come across this before or does any one know of a fix please?

Thanks
Sarah

Sarah as the metropolis is a rare as rocking horse poo, best bet would be t get the make of the under seat box and get googling.
I had a 2001 merc with the command system and the basic system is fitted across quite a few car makes such as vw etc
Ps i love the metropolis but after owning a black car once swore never again.

Hi Sarah - I've got a '53 Metropolis too with a working sat nav. The 6 CD changer under the drivers seat was empty when I bought it and now only holed music CDs, therefore I can only assume the sat nav doesn't use the under seat CD changer for holding a sat nav CD.

This also beg the question of where it does hold the mapping information. I wish I knew as it would be nice if it was possible to update the maps. I kind of doubt that its an easy job

just phoned up Land Rover in Bedford - there is no update available or possible for the sat nav in the Disco 2 Metropolis :(

I thought there was a disc mentioned? If there is, as with all CD/DVDs, if it's ****ed, put it in the computer and copy it to a new disc. PCs read discs better so can usually completely restore scratched or otherwise ruined discs..
