Just disconnect it.Hi all I do a fair bit of green leaning and keep getting maf sensor wet which is getting to be a pain how do I go about removing it I know it needs mapping out but what mechanical changes need to be made
Thanks
Incorrect.Just disconnect it.
The vehicle will still run fine.
Bollix, it will immediately jump to a stored map which is so good it proves that you don't really need the MAF. This is very well known among peeps who own TD5s.Incorrect.
The vehicle will assume the mix needs maximum fuel.
Default is to use maximum fuel.Bollix, it will immediately jump to a stored map which is so good it proves that you don't really need the MAF. This is very well known among peeps who own TD5s.
i have been running with my MAF disconnected for about 3 years now.
So check your facts then shut up.

Incorrect as well but i'm not gonna' go into this here cos it's a long story, better learn first then make such definitive statementsIncorrect.

Maybe on other diesels but not on a Td5Default is to use maximum fuel.
How do you get the MAF wet while laning? Are you sure that's the problem?I do a fair bit of green leaning and keep getting maf sensor wet which is getting to be a pain
I'm assuming he must do a bit of wading and suck water through his airfilter. Not clever!!How do you get the MAF wet while laning? Are you sure that's the problem?
Indeed it's not.I'm assuming he must do a bit of wading and suck water through his airfilter. Not clever!!
It won't need a MAF then; just a replacement spring, every now-and-then.Its a wind up....
This is another issue I’m in the process of sHow do you get the MAF wet while laning? Are you sure that's the problem?
this is another issue I’m in the process of sorting how can I make the air box more waterproof I’ve got a snorkel but it’s still coming in through the air boxIndeed it's not.
But if he's getting the air filter wet at all while wading then he's got other stuff he should be looking at before removing the MAF.
Take the airbox out and have a good look all round it, it has another hole at the bottom and various other places, I don't think it is designed to be watertight to that extent! This is another issue I’m in the process of s

see post #14 re "other holes"Check the drain on the bottom of the airbox and seal it up, also the flexible pipe between the airbox and the wing.
