Hi all.
I have recently gone to the expense of installing an Ashcroft front lsd diff and also an Ashcroft centre lsd diff. The rear diff is still stock as it was replaced not that long ago. Problem is, a clonking noise has now started coming from the rear axel and and I can’t figure it out as the rear diff is responsible new. Would having lsd centre and front diffs and also traction control put so much strain on a standard rear diff that it would only last 150 miles of light to medium off road use?

Ok you would still do best to ask in the disco section.
Clunking could be many things have you got under it and wiggled stuff;).
I wouldn't expect ATBs in the front and middle diffs to hurt or affect the rear badly.

Hi, sorry I am new to the forum. I’ll get there eventually. My main question to this is, have I done the right thing adding these diffs with traction control. Are the diffs sending all the drive to the rear standard axle even on tarmac and then the traction control kicking in and putting extreme pressure on the rear diff when it’s on a slippy surface. It’s a theory I could do with some advice and reassurance on. Thanks.
I am now looking at putting a ATB diff in the rear to hopefully even up the drive torques

Not being funny about it, but that just isn't how diffs or limited slip diffs work. You'd be well spent hitting Google up for a bit and learning about them, some good vids on YouTube that explain how diffs and ATBs work. :)

As for the clunk, does it happen moving forwards/reversing? Turning? Only in low or in high too? On road/off road? Do you have a centre diff lock?

That’s fine. Yes certainly learning. It’s clunks in forward and reverse when taking off and occasionally when sharp turning left or right. Driving at speed seems and feels fine. No shuddering or vibration.

Do you have diff lock? If so you could lock the diff and remove the rear prop and see if it still makes the noise.
