Hi i dont know alot about cars put i am helping to do up a old discovery 2 td5, interior was in quite a mess. I was wanting some help on the interior. Is there anyway i can get the string newspaper holder off the ceiling so i can give it a wash? It seems to be attached to the grey plastic edging that seems to be attached to the roof or it is easier to just clean it attached to the ceiling?

Hi Sarah . You have to undo them from the other side of the roof liming . They have to metal plates on each with about 6 to 8 fixings on each from memory . So you would have to drop the roof lining to get good access .

Thank you for your reply. I think i will just clean them fitted to save hassle, just the strings look dirty. Thank you very much for your knowledge.

When cleaning the headliner be careful not too get it to wet,it will unbond and sag if you drown it

Thank you HenryD for the advice. I will be gentle and use wetwipes that are moist not wet.

FWIW - the recent LRO magazine has a feature on headlining removal because they're re-sealing the sunroofs.

Diff.
