td5 rich

i am getting a knocking noise coming from the front of my td5 and i've pin pointed it to the upper and lower ball joints (the ones that look pressed into the front axle tube) are these hard to change is there a tool for the job i'm handy with a hammer lol any help would be great many thanks
 
never changed them but did my CV's recently...

that'll get you down to the the bear knuckle...

Check the shock absorber lower bush;take the front wheels out one by one and see if there is any movement of the shock absorber to the left and right and the rubber bush broken.Believe me, you don't want to be the balljoints as they are very difficult to be changed and need a hidraulic press and other LR tools;the force needed is arround 40 tones force, so the hammer is just for fun.Do a search on the forum and see what others did to change them.
