On the discovery 2 the handle fixed to the outside of the driver’s door also has the key lock barrel, when you put your key into the lock, and twist the key a rod attached to the barrel inside the handle then in turn, turns the locking mechanism, this pin inside the handle is made from cheap cast metal, so it is weak and breaks easily and true to form mine has broken, I went to Harwood land rover today and explained my problem, there parts man told me the pin is part of the handle and is not sold separately , I can sell you a new handle, £132.99, I thanked him very much for his help and walked out of the parts department, muttering to myself. Can anyone help me with this problem.

You have two choices,

Get a second hand one and take the pin out and change it over or make your own.
I made a post about when I made mine, I will do a search for it.
Or for approx £30 you can buy a new pin from Saudi or summin like that.

Cheers

I did concider making my own, as you say it is possible to buy from abroad, America advertise on ebay but the cost is silly for something that costs nothing, so it is looking like a home made jobbie. Thanks for your help

so it is looking like a home made jobbie.

A second hand door handle is normally about £15, this will normally include the rod.

If you have the broken one as a pattern then it is easy enough to make, just make sure to include the thinned out sections as it needs to be at an angle.

Or as is in the link $25 from the place in Dubai.

Cheers
