Hi, I have a really annoying problem on a discovery 2 I have just bought as follows; Super locking on key fob locks all doors as it should but on unlocking (1st press) the drivers door stays locked and on second press all other doors unblock normally. The drivers door appears to remain super locked as when I try and pull up the unlock tab manually (after all doors unlocked except drivers door) it just pulls itself back down again.

Also If I lock by key I sometimes get a beep indicating a door, bonnet or boot is not shut but that is not the case as I have checked all switches and they are all fine. GRRRRR any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like It could be the spring in the latch mechanism on the drivers door...you can actually open it from the inside by pulling the door handle, the 1st time that will pop up the button, the second will release the door

Unfortunatly with a D2 any probs with the lock or c/l actuator requires a replacment lock unlike the D1's in which both items are seperate and can be repaired.

Mine (51 plate) has just started doing the same thing! At the moment I have to unlock the drivers door using the key. My plan is to strip the door down and lub everything to see if it's just a sticking catch or something. When I use the key fob I can hear the motor, electrics etc working inside the door so I dont think it's anything major.

Having similar problem with Passenger side door mechanism on my 2000 D2, attempted to remove lock assembly, only to find that the pillar/window guide prevents lock assembly from being withdrawn.
Has anyone got any ideas as how to remove the lock without major surgery to the door?
It appears that the solenoid is operational, but on unlocking does not release.

There has been other threads on this subject and yes the window frame has to be removed.

I got a 1999 Disco 2 with same problem, I have to unlock drivers door with the key but can lock it with the fob, any ideas ?
