My Discovery 2 CD player magazine refuses to pop out and the radio display tells me there is no magazine. Anyone any idea as to how/what to check.

Only if it's a Philips player then its a credit card over the top of the cartridge to trip a micro switch.

Not opening as in not doing anything including playing? Does it make a sound as if it wants to open but doesn't? That was mine in a 200MY Disco I had and the result was that the thing was cream crackered. The only way to retrieve the magazine involved violence.

it does not seem to be doing anything at all. I will see if it is a philips so will go prepared with a credit card and a hammer!!!!

If it is a Philips then also try the card trick under the cartridge, it's many years sinse I have done it.

Landyzone community again proves itself brilliant.
My CD also stopped working - same symptoms - "no magazine" on display -Went armed with credit card - over the magazine - Hey presto magic.
