Greetings,
thinking about buying one of these,I wonder if anyone can recommend one please.
I tried Adrenaline but they said not made.
be grateful for any help.
cheers

a link?

Also, why? wouldn't it just be easier to pull a vital relay or two?
Do you live in a particularly rough area?

Thank you for your reply.

We get gypsies round sometimes and locally they have been linked to car thefts, so i thought ...do all I can to prevent it.
I do not want pull out relays and read on the Defender forum that pedal box locks are a good things thought ...get one.!

Yes, but this is a Disco and nowhere near as attractive to the sh!theads who nick stuff off Defenders. Also not so easy, fo instance you can't just simply unbolt the doors and bonnet, to then resell on ebay.

You haven't put up a link so I don't know if you can get a pedal lock like you describe, especially for an auto. why are you so averse to pulling relays? It takes a second and you put them in your pocket and walk away, similarly takes a second to replace then you drive away.

If the D2's security system is fully operational it's unstartable without it's own key-fob
Exactly, to the extent that I leave a key in mine, minus fob as the barrel is a bit silly at the mo and i haven't got around to fixing it yet. I simply drape a washleather over the steering column to hide it and take the fob awya with me. To start it I just click the fob, it opens and deactivates the immobiliser, I then just make sure i start it within 30 secs.

Gypsies? That will be Traveler's now, whom appear to own vehicles far newer and superior than D2s, so I doubt that they would be interested in your vehicle.
But it is always good to be mindful of you’re vehicle security. A fully functioning alarm system first + the immobiliser, electronic, mechanical or both and then if not immobilised to know where your vehicle is a comprehensive tracking system but why not have one fitted anyway :)

I would rather stop it being stolen than tracked, so have ordered a pedal lock and thats about as good as i can get it. Round here gypsies will seal anything, police do nothing about it.

So you was concerned that somebody will steel your keyfob to drive away with your vehicle or it doesnt have a working security system?

The D2 security system is good to be fair, so i would only be concerned about someone breaking in and pinching the contents of my boot or whatever.
Just take care with a pedal lock as people often just chuck them on the back seat and they can be pretty nasty in a crash if it launches into your head! So store it in somewhere secure.

Thanks for the input.
I have part alarm systems car is a Jap import.I do not have any internal sensors by the B posts.I have doors and the immobiliser fitted with a flashing led .
light on the dash. The bonnet is not alarmed.

I will store the pedal box in the back of the car in my box which is strapped down.

I am going to look at getting it upgraded to UK spec, but in the interim going to use the pedal box. I assume they would need to be programmed in ?
Am looking for a pair on e bay.

As has been mentioned, the D2 has very good security that makes it right near impossible to make away with it. Any trouble with your key fob with these vehicles and you're footing it a few miles back home to fetch the second fob - don't ask!!
I'd say your safest bet would be to protect anything you might leave within the vehicle by having one of those modern aftermarket alarm systems professionally installed on the vehicle.
Or you could do what I did and get a shock sensor off Ebay for next to nothing and wire it into the wiring for the bonnet switch so the stock alarm system works even better with that added layer of sensitivity.

Thank you for your message.....do you know or anyone else who is clever what "blue box5" or green means when buying a ultrasonic sensor please?
cheers

I dont understand what you mean... though if you want to install the volumetric sensor search for YWC107000LUM

The one in the second link(YWC103140LUM) doesnt appear as compatible for D2 in the catalogue based on the part number that's all i can say
