My aircon controls are solid with no lights. I saw another post where the guy had lights on his aircon temp controls.. I aint got them either, both appear solid.
Thanks for this people... I think I'll drop round the local dealership and get them to confirm what I have (or haven't) got. Seems weird not to back light them, but then it is a Landy.
Both the LCD display and the temp increase/decrease controls should be back lit when your lights are on. They are small bulbs ib a plasti bulb holder on the PCB. In order to change themyou need to remove the aircon control. Do this by first removing the clock and the bank of swithces from either side (use a credit card or similar long ways top and bottom of each unit to depress the springs and simply withdraw). Put your fingers in the spaces and press in towards the side of the air con controller to depress two more springs and remove the unit. Unpluf the two connectors from the back. Looking at the back you will see two small pozi screws. Remove them and remove the back paying atention to the small ribon on the PCB. You will now be able to see all the lamps mounted on the board. The ones for the temp increase/ decrease can be replaced bu LED's (see warden_jp2002 Stores Auto LED bulbs I got green and they look great!!!) and the others are available for about £1.25 each from any good car shop.
No problem happy to help. Not a long job once you get the clock & switches out, took me about half an hour. The LED's come from Japan, I think they were about £1.50 a pair. Try a search on eBay for "neo wedge"
