hi took my disco2 year 2000 v8 in to a landrover specialist to have the fault codes read.
he put it on text book faults where cleared but the hdc abd tc would not go out.
he checked the modulator pump etc from his laptop but lights still on.
he said he would have to have the car back in to find a fault with the wiring.
funny last time just deleted the codes ,nothing for a year,
could it be the abs modulator shuttle valves .
if so how hard is it to change the modualator

thanks

Before you even think about changing the modulator block a few things need checking out.Often the modulator block suffers from poor earthing - there is an earth point behind the LH headlight that needs a 10mm spanner/socket to tighten it - I've seen a few loose ones.Second is the state of the battery and charging system,if its not up to spec the SLABS ECU will happily log shuttle valve switch faults. Also the shuttle valves are available as replacements without changing the whole block - sit down before you ask the price of a block.
The shuttle valve states, battery voltage and the earth reference voltage can all be viewed as live data on Testbook.

hi can you tell is the earth on the drivers side or off side behind the headlamps.
if it is the shuttle valves can these be replaced by myself or a garage .

thanks

I did say LH headlight,ie,in front of the air filter box.
If it needs shuttle valves I would find a good garage who are familiar with ABS systems - not all are.

hi checked the earth leads behind the head light ,lights still not going out.
any more ideas before i take it in to check through.
many thanks
