Anyone done a diy windscreen replacement. I have my old disco scrapper so need to swap windscreen from old to recent disco. Is it a job a diyer could tackle?

200 series is rubber glazed and 300 is direct glazed with trims around the outside of the glass. 200 doesn't have the silk print band around it which provides a key for the urethane and also excludes UV from the urethane on the direct glazed type. Two types of 300 screen, one with a mirror boss and one without; plus heated and unheated options.
Both types are prone to leaking if not done properly. The trims are very expensive to buy and quite difficult to save from the old installation.
Not a nice job to do as you always get blamed for the fact that the vehicle leaks afterwards, regardless of the fact that it's probably been leaking since day one.

If you've fitted windscreens before, then maybe. If you've not tackled one then certainly not easily, and definitely not (DAMHIKIJDOK) single-handedly!

300 Tdi has the sealed on screen and manipulating the 'proper' amount and shape of the adhesive/sealer bead is a bit of an art, as is the 'one-shot' to fit it" Just cleaning the old sealer back enough and properly is an art all it's own.

I'd pay to get it done, you then also get some comeback if/when it doesn't entirely seal properly ...
