Stick key in turn to left, open door

It'll be the little spring inside thats snapped, mines done this and I cba fixing it

yeah ebay door lock spring for discovery or something like that, bout £3 for them just a pain to change over

Ok mate thanks for the help better than the spamming pm I get telling me he breaks land rovers it's a door lock don't think I need to go to a land rover specialist breaker for it normally old clapped out discos at normal car breakers lol and didn't answer my question any way lol

Get a coat hanger on top of the handle that is no doubt stuck in the up position, pull it down and try again. Well it happened to me.:rolleyes:

Try popping out the landrover badge from the plastic handle/number plate light enclosure and pushing the metal flap back towards the car...

Now try opening the door.

Decide to leave the badge off as a sign to other discovery drivers that you also need to strip the mechanism and free it off!

I have tried squirting WD40 inside the area with the badge removed and still no luck on the door opening.

How do I change the spring please if that's the next stage?

Is the handle stuck up.

You can remove the door speakers & door card then pull the catch on the locking mech to open the door.
Its a bit tight unless you've got woman's hands lol.

Mine does it where you pull the handle, and the bit that moves does not spring / click back into position. Then when you shut the door, you cant pull the handle again, as its already "pulled".

Crouching down and levering it back till it clicks results in one more "pull" being enabled.

Spraying a load of oil up inside and levering it back until it clicks results in multiple "pulls" being enabled.

Your issue may, obviously, be something else entirely.
