Hi all. I noticed today when I buried the throttle on my Discovery 2 that it jerks about and stutters. Any ideas what this could be.
I’ve changed the loom and cleaned the plug so I’ll try a fuel filter. Would this only cause problems at high revs?Fuel filter, oil in Ecu wiring loom are 2 of the usual suspects.
Mine was doing similar, drove fine around town up to around 30mph but started juddering at anything above it and struggled to go any faster. Turned out to be fuel pump. Turn ignition to position 2 and listen for it priming. Mine was dead.I’ve changed the loom and cleaned the plug so I’ll try a fuel filter. Would this only cause problems at high revs?
1. What year and transmission?Hi all. I noticed today when I buried the throttle on my Discovery 2 that it jerks about and stutters. Any ideas what this could be.
It’s an auto on a 2003. This only happens if if bury the throttle to the floor. Like to try and get it to kick down. It will rev right through to say 4-5 k no problems but bury the accelerator and it jerks all over the place.1. What year and transmission?
2. EGR bypassed?
Cheers for your answer but I’ve Changed the fuel pump and still the same. Only seems to do it when you put the accelerator to the carpet to try and overtake or get it to kick down.Fuel pump?

Cheers mate. Me too.Been there done that I hope for u,
Checked fuel filter, wasn’t that
Checked fuel pump was that
Checked voltage of fuel pump, wasn’t there.
We made a bypass from 12v accessory point in the back of the car, should replace it someday
Hope u find it!
Well it can only be fuel or air related, have you replaced the MAF at all? Try running with it unplugged. If it improves, that's the problem. Other than that, maybe fuel pressure regulator?I will still try fuel filter but seems strange it’s when you floor it only.
Seems like MAF cut-out, try with it unplugged and if it's OK we'll speak thenIt’s an auto on a 2003. This only happens if if bury the throttle to the floor. Like to try and get it to kick down. I’ll give it a go. I’m away at the minute but I’ll try it all Monday. ThanksWell it can only be fuel or air related, have you replaced the MAF at all? Try running with it unplugged. If it improves, that's the problem. Other than that, maybe fuel pressure regulator?
It could be fuel filter though, if it's clogged, it will choke fuel supply at higher revs, very cheap and well worth trying.
I’ll give it a go thanks. I’m away at the moment but I’m back Monday I’ll give it a go and let you knowSeems like MAF cut-out, try with it unplugged and if it's OK we'll speak then
I will try it on Monday. Thank youMine did that. Disconnected the MAF and it revved fine. New genuine MAF sorted it properly.
