Is the key not opening it... like turning to far, or has it broken
that plastic piece is broken and i need a replacement.
the key turns thro 180 degrees but doesnt actuate anything.

I found it because they wear and just need a new meeting face so they grip rather than slip over each other
nope - that piece has a keyed section, which is broken.
