I have a disco 1998 300 tdi, that looks like small metel flakes coming from behind water pump pully, is it easy to change ? and the big question is can i pick one up anywhere in watford, any help would be great.

very easy as long as the bolts come undone fan belt (15mm spanner) off pully(10mm) off pump off(10mm) if the 10mm round off than hammer a 3/8" on

i've taken off all the bolts but for the last one at the bottom where it has round off, i tryed the 3/8 it just go round the bolt, the power steering pully is over the bolt too ? which stops you putting a sockit on it, and does the rad cover neen to come off too? mick

try molegrips or get a hacksaw onto the underside of the bolt head

try removing the pas pully make 2 wooden wedges and taping them down betwean the pully and the pump then try hiting the end of the bolt quite hard 3 or 4 times with a hammer to jar the threads then try putting a 3/8" sockett back on

Might be worth putting the other bolts back in, especially the ones either side of the fecked one ... try to pull the pump flat and then try to molegrip the fecked bolt off first.

I had to remove both pully wheels when I did mine

Hi , can you tell me, did you have torque bolts holding the power steering pully on, if so was it easy to take off, mick
