Came out of work tonight and I had a flat tyre on my car ... So I blew it up again an it got me home. I was out changing it and having a look at the rest of the tyres. I discovered that I'm gonna need at least two tyres in the near future. I took a look at the sticky on the top of the forum and the tyres on my Disco are not there. I have 255/65/16 on all round at the minute. There is no modifications done for these tyres. If I'm going to put new tyres on I would like something a beefier looking than whats on. I was thinking of something like 285/65's or something similar. Has anyone fitted anything like this without any mods? I don't want to start cutting and hacking away at the body or trim......

OK, nope, I've never fitted this size so can't help.

Maybe the others that looked are the same but don't want to be negative about it ...

OK, so 115 peeps looked and no one knew the answer ( Or cared ). Anyone?????

some people go as far as 265/75/16 but 285/16 may be a bit big. with 285's you may find you have no steering unless you have wheels with a serious offset.

what model disco is it?

the tyre thread relates to disco 200/300tdi models, you have a TD5 so probably gonna be some differences in standard tyre sizes and the sizes you can fit. as somebody posted above me - speak to a 4x4 tyre specialist and they will be able to advise you properly as to what you can safely fit onto a TD5 and what you can fit with some mods and so on. make sure the company you speak to is a 4x4 specialist tho, otherwise the info you get back may be based around what can be sold to you instead of what is best for you.
