Lubricate the cable and actuating arm on top of the transmission case, try being just a bit firmer when you pull the stick from N to D

If the actuating arm is not moving fully into position the drive will be sluggish, just a simple fact with a cheap fix, which should be included in maintenance schedule, but probably always overlooked/ ignored.

Any tips for me on how to do this ?

Thanks

wd40 etc to free it up then apply a dob of grease, car in off road mode, axle stands then slide underneath and look over the sump/tran guard plate and look down the offside/right/drivers side of the gearbox and you will see the linkage, I just spray mine with aerosol chain lube each service
