.. Afternoon chaps, were off to look at a 2001 disco td5 for a family member to purchase.. Although we have 4 300tdi discos in the family a td5 is something different. So if you have any pointers of common faults what to look for etc, it would be very appreciated thanks.

if your not confident in inspecting it yourself get a local specialist to inspect it.

rust on chassis especially rear

check all electrics work. ie wipers, sun roofs. they did`nt on mine. easy fix but time consuming.

Wiltshire.. no need for the shirtyness!! via general chat.. rather than going to the disco section and trawling through.. sorry if it was too much hassle to ask!!

cheers james, yeah i feel confident enough, its a decent truck, no real faults just a slightly leaking sunroof.

If it got ace check all the pipes and rams for any oil leaks, and sunroofs for signs of leaks water marks on rook lining,

thanks steve, its all ok the ace has been removed, had coil conversion.
sunroof was leaking but sorted it now.
