Hi, new to this forum. Looking for any thoughts on what can been up with my disco. At speeds around 55-70mph (after 70 no rumble) I am getting a rumble/slight vibration. Still there if I put my foot on the clutch and disengage gearbox. Replaced front uj's and centre bearing on prop shaft and has a new rear shaft. I also get slight vibration when breaking into a corner could bushes, ball joints, hubs etc be the problem?

First af all do a wheel balancing at the first wheel service...and for the braking issue if still persists after that check the brake discs.

When I got the car the rumble was there, I have since put a new set of A/T's on and still there, I was told that one of my wheels has a slight buckle but balanced ok. As for brakes, steering womble (slight and not all the time) the brake pedal also pulsates but again not all the time.
Thanks for your quick response.

Check the engine mountings, you can get a rumble from the engine amplified through the chassis if they are gone. If you look at the mountngs from underneath the car there is a small hole in the center of the metal base. push a piece of wire through the hole until it touches the rubber mounting. Mark it off and then measure it it should be 10mm if it less i.e touching the metal base the mountings have gone and the engine vibrations can be travelling through the chassis sounding like a rumble at the speeds you sugest,

I had the same, vibration at 65-70 completely disappeared after 70. turns out the rear offside wheel had a slight buckle, it was balancing up ok (just) but at higher speeds than the balancing machine works at the wheel would wobble again

Had disco serviced and the guy recons 3 of my wheels are no good, time to buy some other wheels!!

I got five for sale with very good tyres, the spare has a very slight buckle.

you can have em all for a £100

pm me if you are interested
