Yes that’s my first plan of attack
Doubt I will be that lucky it’s done 250000 miles driven steady and well serviced
Cracked head would disappoint but not shock me
 
As your fuel injectors sit in top of the cylinder head and a operated by the cam shaft, check to make sure there are no fuel leaks on the injector lines and return pipes , you can remove the rocker cover and run the engine for a few minutes to see if there any fuel spurting out, just be ready to clean up any mess it could just be a spit pipe or loose union
