Hi all,
I recently bought a disco td5 auto and it came with 2 keys. Both fobs have dead battery. I can lock and unlock the car with both keys but when i open the door the alarm goes off and if I put one key in and turn to position 2 it stops. The other key will not stop the alarm and will not start the car. Is there a transponder in a key to disarm the immobiliser or why only one key can start the engine.
Your help is much appraciated.

Yes... both keys should be identical, they were when your disco left the factory.
Both keys will have a transponder in the fob part of the key, fit new batteries and try again, one maybe faulty.

Unlocking with the key will set off the alarm.
