hi can anybody tell me if there are any problems to look out for when changing my steering box. and any other tips to look out for any advise would be gratefull Dorothy J

not much fairly straight forward ,chisel or some other wedge helps removing ujs in the steering linkage ,a good hit on arm near joint will release drag link and dont tighten any bolts on refitting till they are all nipped up a little

Only thing i would add to james's comment is the drop arm can be an utter ****** to get off the box output. Be prepared to struggle or just do as i did and spent a tenner on a new arm nut and lock washer.

Offering the new one back up is a bit of a bugger, get a jack under it and get a bolt in,job done.

thanks for the info so no hidden problems as I have a recon box and new arm
so only have to pop the drag arm link

centralise box once on then fit steering wheel so its straight whilst box is central ,then adjust draglink to alter road wheels if necessary to put steering wheel back to correct after a short trip up the road ,that way way when driving straight steering box will be central as it should be
