I am almost $500 poorer, but the beastie has had a good going over. (perhaps for that much, I could have had a good going over:D )
The new oil didnt help with the noisy lifter I mentioned earlier, but its pleasing to know that your beastie is in good nick. Compression ranged from 155 to 165, with minimum spec being 135 psi,

Wolf...you were right about the snorkel. My mechanic recommended one asap as it imroves the breathing, and exhaust mods alone wont do the trick.

The standard air filter is being replaced with an oil infused sponge thingy as the dust is getting past the filter and clogging up the throttle body something chronic. The snorkel is on order to get the air intake out of the front ns wheel well and away from the dust!!!!. (another $700:eek: )

700 dollars, wow, what that in proper money, i could buy one fer 70 quid and post it to ya fer less, maybe ;)

so a snorkel would be about 70 quid and 140 council staff?

Yup but 280 barmen could be supplemented for the council peeps, as this would be classed as a return of faulty goods :)

i like it.
plus the bonus of making some empty flats available in earls court?

shhh... if the hobbits from zeddy land know about this they'll move in :)

The $700 was a fitted price making the snorkel $550. With an exchange rate of 41 p to the dollar that makes it about 225 pounds. 70 quid sounds good..lol:D:D:D:D

Hi Outback,

Good to hear and OZ makes the finest snorkels - so you are where you need to be!

What grade of oil are you using (I have a lifter that ticks for a bit on startup too and I was wondering if I am too light with 10w-30 synthetic)?
