My Disco is now 9 years old, in that time I've had 4 air suspension Compressors, average life expectancy just over 2 years. Does anyone know if that's normal?

Over the same period I've had to have both the rear rubber air springs replaced once, also both sensors once, at different times to the compressors.

Any views/opinions welcome.

thanks DL

My disco is 8 years old and is on first compressor, air bags replaced this year as one side had gone, your compressor replacement seems excessive!

As u know when the car is on level the compressor must rest....investigate this....IMO for some reason the compressor is overworking itself / working when it shouldnt....they are not heavy duty. Are u sure u dont have any leaks in the system?....the exhaust valve or somethin

I'll second what baz2328 has to say.
I've had my '52 Disco for 6 year & replaced both bags 2 yrs ago.
Bag went this winter, replaced & have spare one in garage.

me too, 10 yr old motor still on first comp, had new bags 2 yr ago.

the filter you speak of is this behind the rear lights?

So are you saying the car will lower slightly when parked up for any length of time? I ask this because my recently aquired disco does seem to be a tad low at the back after an overnight spell.. as soon as i start up she raises straight back up though? Good or bad?

my 53 disco had a problem with loosing air from air bags it wasnt obvious you couldnt hear it hissing or anything i changed air bags anyway for dunlop ones no more problem maybe you have a similar problem somewhere causing the compresser to over work its self

Not good, find out where the leak is using soapy water on springs and within the compressor housing ....if u cant see any obvious leak then replace both springs ASAP(they have the "ability" to seal themselves sometimes).......otherwise there is the risk to lose the compressor too.
