Hey guys just wondering how far a disco can rot before it is too far gone I can weld pretty well and will be doing work myself with help of friends when needed :) any advice great fully received :) ;)

Anything can be saved if your willing to put the work in and handy with a welder. :)

In some ways, if your looking for a project, I would rather buy one with a decent mileage, good bodywork and interior etc. but needing a lot of welding, they can be had fairly cheaply, if you budgeted on doing boot floor, rear body crossmember, both sills, and 2 front inner wings + patching on other bits, you could have the truck stripped out and get the welding done fairly quick, money wise, I suppose you would be looking at £1000 worth of panels from YRM (their definitely worth the money) and then your time to weld, underseal etc. If you do a decent job, and protect car properly afterwards, you could have a disco for life with a good few welding free years and you may have spent £2k on the truck and parts, possibly less,
Or you could buy the best you can find for £2k and end up doing the work bit by bit for the next couple of years anyway.
