Hi Guys,
Just before I went top morocco last year the revresing lights failed to work on my 1993 Disco 1. Since then I've replaced the switch, checked the power to the new switch, its all ok but when adjusting the switch there seems to be nothing to operate the switch in the housing at the end of the gearbox. Is there a rod missing. Does anyone know? I've tired various other sites and of course Land Rover have no ideas on a vehicle this old!!!!!
Any one out there got a clue, its just that I'm lazy and dont have time to strip the top of the box to check iyt out manually!!!!

hi John i had a similar prob in mine, i have a jreg disco and when i replaced the reversing switch it was either always on or always off, when i went in through the cabin i.e. take off the plastic bit and sound proofing above the gearbox and u will see where the switch screws in take the switch out and there should be a small pin with a flattened top that presses against the reversing switch, if its missing i suggest a scrap yard, if its bent do what i did ( large hammer) and straightened it.
Hope this helps Andy

This may help you visualise it..?
