Disco I just bought was first resetered in June 1998 but it has an 'R' registration.

Is this correct or is it me getting the letters wrong?

Its right, R reg = 1st August 1997- 31st July 1998

Yup it's right my disco is an R registered on 24 July 1998

I had the same problem insuring my 2002 Disco, most of the insurers websites put that the car was made between 1994 and 1996, and then quoted me on those ages. When I finally spoke to someone to confirm the price they realised that an 02 registered car couldn't have been made in 1996 and adjusted the quote upwards by £200 Also, they said that in the event of a claim that I wouldn't be covered

Having said all the above, there are some insurers websites that will correctly quote for the age of the car, and the ones that incorrectly age the car can sometimes be manually changed. :doh:
