Hi....
Help needed 1997 300tdi...
The key fob has stopped working, alarm/immobiliser on, so the car won't start...
Does any body know how to turn off, get rid of immobiliser...

Any help appreciated...

You have tried a replacement battery in the fob i'm sure, so.

You can start by removing the front of the dash to get
deep inside to bypass the 'spider' or send the broken fob to remote key for a repair/replacement. No contest :)

As it was locked with the fob and now it does not work you need to know the EKA code to remobilise it,you can get this from a LR dealer. Most 300TDI's had a passive ring type immobilser so really you need to get another fob coded up,(pref 2 of them) to avoid this again.Using the EKA code is not quick,so its just as its letters mean,Emergency Key Access code.Fobs are about £30 odd + Vat and I generally charge £20 to code them if the car is brought to me.Most Indys seem to charge a similar or slightly larger amount.Good luck if you try a main dealer.

So can you supply me with a reserve fob? (I only have one and I am worried now!)

Yes,it is done with Testbook connected to the car,and you need all fobs present when its done.(You can have up to 4 )

Any idea where I can get another fob and have it programmed without paying Main Stealer prices? I'm in Ruislip, Middlesex.

Cheers for that, I,ll give the main dealer a try to get the EKA, then go from there... How do I know if its the Alarm ECU thats playing up, not the key fobs...?
