HELP!! My Disco is noew very sluggish up to 2000rpm then seems to judder and jump. if then I drop a gear it seems to go through that and revs smoothly up to 3000 rpm then won't rev past that.I would have said that it is fuel starvation but for the fact it revs so smoothlyfrom 2000 to 3000 revs ??
Any suggestions? Valves??

My Disco is sluggish up to 2000rpm. At the service he told me that the lift pump was on its last legs. I had the cat removed with a new exhaust and plan to replace the pump (£20) and remove the EGR. Hopefully that will improve things.

Gunna have to give us more info :) Like year, does it stall, smoke, bad starter etc...........

If it's not your lift pump it could be your MAF,or a blocked doo dar filiter, the one under the fuel tank, air leak or summet else.

. When it starts to get sluggish stop right away.If it is NOT a TD5 then remove fuel filter. When unscrewing the filter, fuel should spill out before it is completely removed. if not, once removed look inside and the fuel should be at the top. If it is then no air leaks to the filter. If not then possible rusty pipes at fuel sedimenter next to tank. Hope this helps.

hi have you tryed reving it up but only for a second or two it should rev to about 4600 if it dont then your garage is probably right about your injection pump but try for air leaks first.
