Hi Guys,

The TD5 in my disco has started giving the code:

(4,1) INLET AIR TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT, LOGGED HIGH

From a quick google it looks like the MAP sensor also has the IAT sensor inbuilt and so needs replacing. (I've thoroughly cleaned it in the last couple of thousand miles and have fully deleted the EGR)

I wanted to check how big of a problem this is? I'm planning on getting a fairly saucy map done in the next year or so once I've finished off the list of supporting mods which will include a 3 bar MAP sensor

So if I can put buying a new one off and save myself from having to buy a new MAP sensor now and then having to get another one alongside the map that would be great

If there's any risk that running with an iffy IAT reading could give me any running or reliability issues I'll bite the bullet and get a new stock one now

Thanks as always!

Hi, the IAT input is used in the ECM's addaptive strategy for acceleration, quite important to be OK... though if you have a scanner read the live IAT input, usually it shows around 120 when the IAT is fubar otherwise it should show very close to ambient temperature imediately after cold start then up to max 30*C higher with hot engine

I'll see what the nanocom says in instrument mode and cross fingers its not totally buggered, good to know it is important enough to replace it if it is though

Cheers
