I've checked 3 kind of RAVE versions electrical library and circuit diagrams and all are the same, didnt find one to confirm that fuse disposals you have in your's, here is a pic from mine, exactly like in the book F3 = LH main beam

FUSES INT..jpg

Totaly baffled now.... Dont suppose yer anywhere near postcode WR10 so you can pop in fer a look.... Two heads being better than one as it were....

Unfortunately i'm exactly where it's in my profile...so quite far  ... go for that wire under the console cos i dont see other chance for you, i'd help you with pleasure but it seems that your's is somehow special and doesnt match the diagrams, let's hope that at least the wire colours are OK

Will do.
But first am going to check the fuse board again to see what the story is with the side lights. Seems logical to me that instrument lighting should be run off the side light supply. Gonna get pulling fusses & see what happens. Also gonna dig round the various sheds & see if i can find "the book" that came wiv it...... Then its bring out the axe time!

From SF's picture, F11 & F33 is sidelights, while F27 is instruments.

Odd how they seem to have scattered the fuse assignments all over the place, rather than grouping similar function fuses together, such as sidelights on fuse 11 & 12, or even better, keep the left hand and right hand lights in their respective fuse column, i.e. fuse 11 & 28.

I may be barking up wrong tree but that fuse "f3" and the dash lights wires all meet in one place the light Switch , which I have had Problems with ( low beam head lights going off sometimes fixed that by taking swtich apart and cleaning contacts ) , there may be something weird going on in your Switch that turns the dash lights off and blows fuse , its a shot in the dark. Land Rover wiring diagrams give me nightmares

Which fuse 3 are you on about. Fuse 3. 10 amp in passenger compartment fuse box is L/H headlamp main beam. Fuse 3. 15 amp in engine compartment fuse box is fog lamps.

Will do.

IMO that will not help you cos as long as the fuse blows and only interior lights are going out there's a partial short to ground on that circuit which has nothing to do with the lighting switch BUT it's connected with the RH side lamp... so when that odd fuse 3 blows the RH side lamp should be out too then and maybe you are lucky to be a short in that cluster though that would not explain why this symptom started after work on the transfer box...you can try to unplug the RH light cluster and drive it so and if the fuse doesnt blow investigate there
btw that fusebox must have a label on it or stamped on it at a side the part number... if you can find it post it here maybe i can figure out something, should be something with YQE......

don't miss the post above^^^
... it seems that your's is Canadian spec or something, here is one like your's http://www.discoweb.org/forums/showthread.php?t=82566 though in all the circuit diagrams from 3 different RAVEs in the power distribution section i could'n find one to match with that fuse disposal, all are pointing to F33 being for interior switch's illumination + RH side lamp and F3 for LH main beam  ...i'm still digging, the part nr of fusebox would be good

Good morning all!
Been digging away at this issue since October & no further forwards..... Except that the lights have now packed up completely & the fuse3 is OK... This is making me go grey way to early.
Does anyone have any idea as to the wire colour that disappears into the multiplug on the dash? Looking at tapping off the sidelamps straight into the dash lights.
Thoughts anyone?.....
