anyone out there to help me!!!! i have a 96 disco 300 tdi manual, i have had an acceleration problem for the last 6 months, basically it wont rev past 2800rpm, when it hits 2800 it feel like a fuel starvation problem, juddery and flat and will not go any faster, in fact if you keep your foot down it will slow down as the revs drop off rapidly after the initial judders, this gets worse and worse until after a few hundred miles it will struggle to do 20 and wont want to rev at all.
attempts so far, had the injector pump refurbed professionally, replaced the lift pump (non gen) changed the fuel filter, cleaned out the sedimenter and re sealed with new seals, had the fuel pipes blown out, they are a hard plastic, replaced the fuel pipes from the sedimenter to the sender unit, replaced the sender unit with a new one,had the tank cleaned, fitted and egr blanking plate.
Still wont rev past 2800 in any gear. if it helps there is oil in the intercooler pipe and the pipe that went to the egr, a coating all over the inside, help please!!!

ps not very good with the spanners, but rapidly getting better, any replies in plain english would be greatly appreciated as still learning!

how would this be evident? i have checked the jubilee clips on intercooler top hose, i initially thought i had air getting into the fuel system, every time i changed something ie fuel filter or cleaned out sedimenter it would run fine for a short while, after a while i decided i was not finding the problem by replacing/cleaning items but just bleeding the system every time until sufficeint air got in again to cause the problem to re-occur

had the tank sender replaced last week and new fuel pipes fitted from the sender to the sedimenter, would the unions have been replaced whilst the above work being completed?

yes, thats my thoughts, maybe have to get fuel pipes replaced front to back, i suppose its possible that the hard plastic fuel lines can crack/split?

forgot to mention i also replaced the front pipe with a non cat pipe in case this was the problem....it all adds up to a pretty penny.

the lift pump is an ancilliary item next to the engine block, i have replaced it with a new non landy part, is that what you meant sorry for my poor description

yeah the lift pump for the tank .....well that iliminates that one lol...is the turbo hose to the top of the injector pump ok giveing the pump boost presh ...

my 400 post by the way lol ...

i will check that, but even when the turbo is not working ie in 5th at 55mph it still wont rev past 2800 could that still be the turbo?, how can i check the boost pressure? it feels ok in 1st, 2nd (until 2800 that is).
