As some of you might of noticed :p Am saving up for a deepender. But having seen GamekeeperJames' 90 disco am not so sure! The insurance on a disco is a tad more, but surely that would be ofset by discos being cheaper than deependers! Basically I want a veh wot isnt gna break me bank to buy, has 2 seats, can fit stuff in the back, can tow me mrs's orse, and wot I can go laning and offroading in. The question is, Disco or Deepender? Wotcher fink?

Disco mate, nearly as good as a 90 off road, better on road and can carry 7people. Not to mention a **** loads cheaper.

Just watch for rust, even tho that can be fixed

Am only going to have 2 seats I think cos im going to have bucket seats. But I might keep rear seats handy for if they're needed. And yeah will be on an evil lookout for rust, but like you say it's not always a killer, depends on how it's taken hold!

possible, plenty of cheap ones that need just TEENY bit of work. Some ppl sell em off cos they need a bit of simple work doing but they flap cos they cant.

Who got the landy with 'dead drive' that was the transfer box in nuetral really recent?

get a disco, i cant help think bout wat i cud have got for 7 grand....

wahoo i managed to persuade you. i wanted a defender so bad but then i thought about that disco. you get more for your money, there comfier etc.

he sells his arse at banbury cross, its market day on a tuesday so theres plenty of punters

So is the elephant really vengeful or just making a strained face down to Johnny Giles?

Won't disagree wiv wot's been said but MC isn't being entirely fair...she should also mention how much they've spent on the Disco since!!! :D

(Still...I guess wiv the spondoolies left over you can spend a bit tarting up...the car that is...not for Banbury Cross!!)

Yeh but it wasnt anything serious like an engine or full gearbox, twas a clutch, rad, bit of welding and brakes, what landy dont need that every so often? what car dont need that? besides, its more fun in a landy, and parts are cheap as chips, specially on ebay (where we got most parts/bargains :D)

oh martin, look at laning in lancs thread again mate, still more controversy on rooley moor

i think jim is a definate rent boy. seems to be a growing trend selling there ass on banbury cross. surprised he hasnt put up a sign in cash converters just down from the cross lol

I made a ton cos I got paid lol! I would buy a landie you're right but I can't afford the insewerants. My no claims is on the nissan and I'm only 20, cheapest quote I can get is about a grand! Thinking about gettin my dad a quote with me as a named driver

Whos quoting you that much?TAke it you've gone to all the main insurance peps.Alot of bods on here say the nfu is good but im with Adrian flux and they gave me a discount for being a member on here!get a landy mag and try all the specalists in there.

try tesco insurance, i'm 24, no no claims bonus, and its £450 with breakdown et cetera, et cetera

Lancaster seem pretty good for insurance. £168 TPF+T on a disco for me. Mind you that is low mileage and I'm getting old.....

I went through the defender/disco choice not long ago. Saw loads of defenders going for stupid money that where basically battered and needing fixing. Went for a disco at 60% of the money, 60% of the miles on the clock and a lot less leaking oil. It's comfy too! :)
