Hello,

I have a D1 200tdi Auto at the moment i have a clicking noise coming from underneath mainly when it comes to braking when going forwards and it used to be the same in reverse. Any ideas???

changed this week both front hubs, panard rod and steering rod (that clearly is not the right wording but its early and im having a brain fart lol)

ta in advance

If your confident its not brakes i'd be inspecting props and checking oil levels.

Is it gear, vehicle speed or engine speed related?

Mine been doing it for 6 months ( 300tdi )now but it only dose it when I change up gear ( like the engine flexs when clutch released but also dose it when traveling and press the accelerater firmly so the engine jerks so I think mine is either the flexi in the front pipe or engine mounting soon find out if its flex as fitting a straight through system in the next few weeks

Theres loads of stuff it cud be.. Loose pads is a good bet. Gearlinkages can ckick too.. Mine turned out to be a knackered front shock bush. I could rattle the whole shock about with my hand! (i still can tbh- havnt got round to it!)

Mr hick... When the manifold gasket blows it makes a ticking noise so have a look, your gasket may not be gone but the studs might not be torqued up...

my 300tdi has same problem when breaking also has a load whistle not a schreatch when I put my foot down any ideas
