HI , to every one ,im new to landyzone but was hoping to get more info and help than another site !!
I have a 62 plate discover which as had front impact which i am struggling to figure out ,

car is powered and in park
does a system check and comes up with engine system fault
checked plugs behind battery they are ok
checked fuses all seem good
fuel is getting to the injector rail
checked injector circuit and no power to harness on all injectors .

what would be the best tool to plug in and would it show the fault , Hawkeye or IIDTool BT

would appreciate further thoughts and help ,thanks in advance

hi

there are things u can check but for safety it really needs plugging in, the iid is the one to buy

plse pop over to the introduce section

thank you for your replies , its had a frontal and taken the front bumper crash beam bar and rad pack ,car as covered 80,000 showing warning on dash as mentioned plus no water in rad system, just need to get it started to manoeuvre it on to ramp in my garage ,air bags not gone off and srs light goes out on ignition

I was thinking something like intertia switch but on a D3/4 it probably wouldn’t be that simple! On my Nanocom/Lynx I have not seen anything about it in the settings so presumably it’s fault code that needs clearing

hi

hope this isnt a daft question but assume ur not trying to start it with actually no water in the cooling system or just a sensor saying it has no water

surprised the air bags didn’t go off, as there are impact sensors on the front , but when u get it repaired the diagnostics will then be able to tell u more

that airbag system if i may say really needs looking seeing it didn’t fire

know i had to replace my curtain airbags , pre tensioners, seat airbags etc etc and that was from a slight tap on the drivers side , i bought it like that , it just had the srs light on and thought it was something simple and turned into a lot of work ,

something isn’t right there for a front impact that heavy and not for the airbag system to fire, there’s 8 x of them

Think he just wants to move it a few yards onto a ramp but risky all the same

rads on temporary fitted for fluids , air bags defo not gone of but ive seen many cars with frontal impacts that dont set of the bags and then you get ones with very little damage where they have ,think its where it hits on the front !! ,so could the srs system have a recorded fault with no air bags deployed ?
going to purchase a reader specific for LR and hopfully shed some more info .

If you’re not getting fuel to the injectors there’s bound to be a fault code causing it

Thought i would give a update on progress, not sorted the issue yet mainly due to not enough time to look at in depth ,but i have purchased the Gap IIdtool bt and done a fault search then contacted gap tech team ,they got me to email the fault codes direct to them from the device which is cool and patrick from gap replied very quickly with what he thought the problem was and with a electrical diagram to help fault find .
Its good when you get a company that gives this kind of service so hopefully will get to the bottom of the issue ,see below the reply from gap

P0607-00 Control Module Performance - No sub type information
Corrupt engine control module software
Engine control module power supply fault
Engine control module failure
Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, re-configure the engine control module with the latest level software
Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the engine control module power supply for open circuit. Repair wiring harness as required.

Since this car has been in an accident, a wire or fuse issue is more plausible. Wiring attached.

Same goes for the Ambient air temperature sensor fault.

hi

great u bought the iid and pat is indeed very helpful

take ur battery out and check the ecus behind the plastic cover, when i reinstall the cover make sure it’s nice and tight , one is the transfer box other engine ecu , look at the pins where they connect to the ecus

ambient temp sensor should be in the middle front if ur rad

are u able to post up some pics please

hope that helps a little as i’m not 100% how the systems compare as that’s where they are on mine but mines a d3
