Anyone came across this before ?

Did a search and cant see if anyone has had the same problem, plenty threads on the clutch etc but cant see this,

Was out doing some offroading on Saturday with the brother.

Disco drove as it should through out the time we were out, going up and down the bings we were at, as most of the country will know it had pist down most of the week, bings were very muddy and **** so it was a struggle to get up some of the bings without a bit of wheelspin etc,

Anyway brother ended up getting stuck, well and truly stuck, tryed to pull him out the mud hole he got stuck in, but his fourtrak wasnt for moving,

Gave it about 7 or 8 attempts, then no drive on mine,

Put it into gear, very slight movement, but cery slight, never realy moved, then nothing,

No bangs, no slipping clutch, just stopped all of a sudden,

No clutch fluid loss or anything, even tryed turning it off and putting it in gear and trying it that way, Disco just started as normal as if it was in neutral,

Hasnt jumped out of 4 wheel drive selector either.

Cheers if anyone can help me out,

As Iv said I HAVE did a search.

Just dont want to end up going down the road of buying loads of **** I dont need.

How long does it take to do a clutch if I do have to go down that road.

Ment to say, Disco was driving as it should before it happened.

Again, Cheers for any info thats past on as it is appreciated.

these are the questions that need answering before anybody can have a guess really.

Nothing was moving, props etc,

My brother had a look at it again earlier this evening.

He recons the fork for the clutch has went through the pressure plate,

He checked the slave cylinder, then took it out and got his mate to press clutch etc and the clutch wasnt releasing,

He said when he took the slave cylinder out he tryed to see it there was any movement on the clutch fork and it was very tight, as if it had jammed against something, he recons you should be able to move the fork very slightly but nothing. was jammed tight.

So looks like a new clutch.

When I was looking through the previous searches on the clutches it sems the fork is bad for fecking up on the Disco 1.

Is it recommended to change the fork as well while the gearbox is out. ?

Does anyone know how long it takes to do a clutch on the Disco 1, how much of a pain is it to do.

Once again guys thanks for the replys, it is very much appreciated.

Was pricing clutches on foundry 4x4 etc, they have one but it says all in one clutch hd, does anyone know what thr hd is and will it be ok for mine, 1999 disco 300tdi, does say its for the 200/300 tdi certainly, just havnt a clue what the hd ment.

Cheers

normaly when the fork goes the clutch pedal goes hard iirc. it does tend to punch through on the pivot

Pedal didnt go hard. could still press it and it came back up ok. as you pressed the clutch it went down as normal but felt spongy down the bottom

are you sure the slave isn't failing when under load. It may appaer to work, but not have enough force to push the pressure plate. Lastly just stabbing the in dark here, Has the release hasn't failed, that may well give the look of the fork sat in the pressure plate.

I think the release bearing has gone through the fork.

I said preasure plate on earlier post but i think its the release bearing.

Just renew clutch while gearbox is out as its done about 150000 miles
