Have seen where an oscilloscope is hooked up, instrument panel cowl is hit gently with the hand and can see the oscilloscope change which indicated the cluster at fault

plse let us know how u get on as of course would hate for u to go to the expense of getting it repaired without having it 100% diagnosed
